Author : Gregg Hall

In recent years many people have expressed interest in synthetic oils and have wondered what all the hoopla was about Now with many different brands of synthetic oils on the market it bears looking into

One of the main questions people ask is whether or not synthetic oil is really better for the vehicle Before the advent of synthetics the main thing that concerned people was the type and weight of the oil

The S A E system grades regular oil and gives it a rating such as 10W40 The scale is used to help you decide what oil to use for particular climates The example given here is multi-viscosity oil acting like a 10W flowing easily when starting and then becoming thicker and acting as a 40 weight when the engine warms

Synthetic oils have been used for a long time in military vehicles and fighter planes and before being released to the mainstream was used by airlines who continue to use them The reason these organizations use synthetic oil is because it is designed for all weather conditions and does not break down easily Synthetic oils also contain more engine protecting additives allowing you to go longer between oil changes as well

This concept alone is a good reason for using synthetic oil Even though synthetics cost up to four times as much as conventional oil the benefit is that you don't have to change your oil every 3,000 miles as recommended for traditional oils and may be able to go as long as 50,000 miles as long as you change the filter every 10,000 miles This doesn't mean that you don't pop the hood and check the oil and other items every 3,000 miles, just that you should not have to replace it that often

For most people these days synthetic oil should be considered It is recommended even more so for extreme driving which is stated as short driving of two to twenty miles which is tough on your vehicle and will cause a faster breakdown of the conventional oil

With conventional oil impurities are just the nature of the beast and it is almost impossible to remove them while synthetics contain almost none This fact is one of the reasons you can go longer between oil changes with synthetic oils

You have to be careful in making changes on older cars as the switching to synthetic could cause oil leaks due to their not interacting with seals and gaskets in the same way as conventional oils The best thing to do is to use synthetic oil in a brand new car; this is what I did with my Nissan Titan when I first bought it

Gregg Hall is a business consultant and author for many online and offline businesses and lives in Navarre Florida with his 16 year old son.

Author : Mike Trudel

Every year, millions of drivers are injured in automobile accidents It's no wonder, then, that experts recently confirmed the automotive market is driven by three major demands: fuel efficiency, environmental responsibility and safety features

All of this seems straightforward enough Meeting market demands, however, can be complicated Adding safety features may mean adding more weight to the vehicle - which can lead to lower fuel economy Reducing weight in the wrong places could leave passengers' safety in jeopardy But leading automotive engineers are somehow finding ways to do it all

The importance of many advanced safety features lies in their ability to utilize electronics in ingenious ways Lane departure warning systems, for instance, can use forward looking cameras, which - through advanced technological adaptations - signal an audio or visual alert to drivers when they travel out of their respective lanes Similarly, infrared side alert systems help drivers become aware of vehicles in their blind spots when making turns or changing lanes with audible and/or visual alerts

Night vision systems integrate near-infrared illuminators into the headlights and are used with an infrared-sensitive camera and a head-up display to improve drivers' nighttime visibility without blinding oncoming traffic The adapted headlights illuminate the road ahead, the camera captures the image, and the head-up display provides an enhanced version of that image to the driver

While night vision helps give drivers a clearer view of what is happening on the road ahead, smart cruise control with headway alert and stop-and-go actually responds to traffic conditions by reducing the need to manually adjust speed, apply the brakes or disengage cruise control This type of advanced system can also warn drivers of slower traffic ahead

Even more exciting, multiple vehicular systems can be integrated - "talk" with each other and create a cocoon of safety around the vehicle In the future, vehicles may even be able to "talk" to each other through wireless communication Such technology carries with it the hope of eliminating accidents altogether Imagine a world where roadway accidents simply aren't an issue

Developing the technology for each of these advanced safety features is only one part of the puzzle Weight, space and environmental challenges must also be met in order to actually apply these technologies Integration of multiple vehicular systems is one way that automotive engineers are able to find space for the addition of new technologies, while also minimizing added weight For example, one radar can be used for both Adaptive Cruise Control and Pre-crash sensing Another strategy is to develop and utilize materials that are lighter and smaller than those already being used on a vehicle

Achieving high-tech, fuel-efficient cars with a green environmental consciousness is complicated, but today's automotive engineers are up to the challenge As the automotive industry continues to find creative ways to reduce the weight and size of new and existing automotive technologies, they can fit more of these innovations into the same space while improving fuel economy More safety features can mean a less hazardous ride Combined with better fuel economy and an elevated environmental consciousness, that means a better product It creates a win-win situation - for both the consumer and the environment

Automotive technology has created possibilities, and with possibilities come hope and expectation Consumers have big goals and high standards It's not enough for vehicles to look good and guarantee a degree of safety They need to have high-tech safety features, be environmentally friendly and promise fuel efficiency All of this is possible, and it's the little changes along the way - like better system integration, smaller components and computer chips, and technical innovation - that will help make it happen

Mike Trudel, Freelance Writer.

Author : Brenda Williams

The commercial utility cargo vehicle was a response by the United States military to the Humvee and the Gama Goats as a more cost effective vehicle available to transport goods, equipment and troops There are five vehicle configurations for each vehicle that include cargo, utility, shelter carrier, ambulance and chassis The Chrysler Corporation's Dodge Division manufactured the vehicles in the late 1970s and early 1980s and then General Motors manufactured the trucks in the late 1980s The trucks, just like all other military vehicles, is painted with camouflage pertinent to where the vehicle is being used and some, but not all of them, have a little bit of armor

These vehicles have been produced as pickup trucks, SUVs and larger cargo trucks These vehicles have made their way into the lure of vehicle collectors and a lot of them are still on the roads today They are owned either by former military servicemen or owned by a civilian that just has a love affair for the truck itself Some of them are still painted in their original camouflage and some have been painted over and over again by many different owners The commercial utility cargo vehicle can be driven on normal, everyday roadways but has enough power and agility to be driven off road, like a Jeep, Humvee or other high powered truck

The commercial utility cargo vehicle has been used in Vietnam, the Gulf War, the Iraq War and the War on Terrorism in Afghanistan They have also been used for special operations involving National Guardsmen during natural disaster recovery efforts These trucks, because they are designed to fight through tough terrain like all pickup trucks, can navigate through flood waters, terrain covered in debris and downed trees Commercial utility cargo vehicles have been a big help to the military and other armed services in the United States since production and distribution of the vehicle began a couple of decades back

The majority of the commercial utility cargo vehicles manufactured are named and numbered beginning with the letter 'M' and the numbers begin and end in the 800s The trucks also come in two wheel and four wheel drive capabilities

Here is a list of the trucks:
Four wheel drives
- M880 Basic Dodge 4x4 Pickup truck Model
- M881 M880 fitted with additional 60 amp 24 volt generator
- M882 M881 fitted with communications equipment
- M883 M881 fitted with slide in shelter kit
- M884 M880 fitted with 100 amp 24 volt generator and slide in shelter kit with tie downs
- M885 M880 fitted with slide in shelter kit with tie downs
- M886 Ambulance model based on M880
- M887 Maintenance body based on M880
- M888 Telephone maintenance body based on M880
Two wheel drives
- M890 4x2 wheel drive version of the M880
- M891 M890 fitted with additional 60 amp 24 volt generator
- M892 M890 fitted with additional 60 amp 24 volt generator and communications kit
- M893 2 wheel drive ambulance version
General Motors began manufacturing these trucks in the late 1980s and continues to manufacture them today

http://www.trianglerentacar.com/toys-for-tots.php Toys for Tots

Author : Gregg Hall

People who own SUVs can choose to communicate themselves with their tires They can install a set of loud, flashy tires that demand the attention of the people who watch them cruise by, or they can put on a set of conservative, classy rims that demand the respect of others SUV owners who have installed a set of stylish wheels know that their rims are far more than a metal disk that supports tires Do you?

If you are thinking about installing a set of rims on your SUV, the first thing you need to do is decide on a budget Since wheels can be very pricey indeed it is a good idea to set a limit on your spending from the get go Setting a price range will also limit the amount of choices available to you, which, counter intuitively, is a good thing, since the vast choices available in rims can be very daunting And, it will keep you from feeling too guilty for having splurged on too expensive wheels

After you have set your budget, you can start thinking about which type of metal you want SUV wheels come in various metals, like chrome, aluminum, or stainless steel Choosing a metal is very important because it will determine how much care you will need to dedicate to your wheels The three metals listed above are low-maintenance Of course, the determining factor in choosing metal should be your personal taste

After metal, it's time for the best part, choosing which style you want Style in wheels is a very personal thing One person cannot tell another which one is best for them, so it will all be up to you So, think about whether you want the tough looking thick spoked rims that will make your SUV look strong and imposing or a finer looking, refined look that will make your SUV distinctly classy The good thing is that SUVs can take all manner of wheels and ride with them, so there are few limits to your personal style

You are sure to have seen the hundreds and hundreds of stores that specialize in dealing with custom and personalized wheels These would be an excellent spot to start the search for the SUV rims of your dreams Going to the dealers will let you see wheels in real life, not just on the pages of catalogs, and get a better impression of how it will look when it is installed on your vehicle And if the store doesn't have the wheel you were thinking of in stock, then they will almost certainly be able to send away for it for you

If the stores local to your area are not satisfactory, then you could always try to search on the internet Besides loads of information regarding SUV wheels, you will find images of all kinds of rims and wheels which are designed specifically for the SUVs made today If you don't want to order the wheels yourself online, you can simply print out the information of the wheels you like and take it to a dealership that will order them for you There is also the added bonus in that they can even mount the wheels for you!

Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Beach, Florida.

Author : Todd Daon

Excerpt - It surely is that time of the year when it is snowing around vociferously in your town If that's the case, you surely need to do something to ensure your car is kept out of harm's way
Snow is the biggest enemy for your vehicles It does not get worse than exposing your sedan to its worst enemy like a sitting duck Take up the cudgels and think of doing something for your car or vehicle so that it withstands the extreme winter, which will be hitting your city in some months to come

In doing so, you would help yourselves Of course, you would not have to pay a visit to the repair shop to get your car fixed after all the beating it has taken during the winter months Secondly, you would also be able to allow your car to run a year longer, possibly more
Here is how you should prepare a vehicle to withstand the hazards of wintry conditions

- Park the vehicle indoors - Here indoors does not mean in your home Park the car in your garage or a place that is not exposed to the snow outdoors This should be the simplest way you could prepare your car for the grind ahead

- Ignite the engines almost daily - There could be some days when you may not use your vehicle at all, especially when it is snowing outside On all such days, be sure to spend 5 minutes in the morning in starting your car You may still not go out anywhere But at least by starting the engines, you are ensuring they are warm in spite of the cold outside

- Finish off all the long drives before winter sets in - If you have any long drives pending on your agenda, you should get done with them much before winter sets in Driving your car for a long time in the cold can only be damaging for the engines of your car

- Never do any carburetor related activity during winter seasons - Remember, it is cold outside Opening up the chassis and checking the carburetor in the cold may not be the best idea after all Even before you could say "Car Maintenance", the engine could catch cold

- Charge your batteries - This is that time of the year when you battery could keep losing its charge off and then A good idea would be charge the battery so it could last longer Alternatively, you could also charge the battery once in two weeks to keep it in fine fettle

Keeping your car in fine fettle during winters has got a lot to do with what you do before the winters and during the time it snows Treat your car like a baby at all times, but do that especially during winter seasons It is this time of the year that your car would need extra care The extra minute you spend with your car can only be beneficial for you, as chances of your car breaking down mid highway after the winters are pretty remote

Clearly there is a need to prepare your car for winter. Accidents can occur if you have not made the neccessary preparations. If you have had an accident recently, visit http://www.bgrb.co.uk (BGR Bloomer Solicitors).

Author : Samantha McCartney

I don't know you, but I know that you probably work hard, you probably give more than you receive, you probably have a family that you take care of every day, you probably work more than you play, you probably volunteer your time in some way, you probably support good causes, and much more Either way I am sure you do a lot in your busy schedule and you rarely take the time to worry about and reward yourself One thing is for sure, you deserve to drive a car that looks great! So, how do you get to that point of driving a car that looks great when your current vehicle is far from great?

I understand that most people believe that you need to buy a brand new car or even a new used car to drive a car that looks great However, that is not the case and that is also not the best solution A new car will you an average new monthly payment of about $384 00, that is quite a bit to shell out each month With the economy in shaky standing that is probably not the best option Actually the truth be told most people just can't afford to go out and buy a new car But, that doesn't mean you can't drive a car that looks great!

The other option that many people don't know about or think is too expensive is auto reconditioning Keep in mind I said "think is too expensive" The average cost of auto body repair is $800 00, that is just about two of your new car payments, instead of the 48 that come with buying a new car So, you can see that auto reconditioning is totally affordable Auto reconditioning is also known as minor auto body repair Usually these auto body repairs can be completed in two to six hours at the right shop Most auto reconditioning shops offer a variety of services that include paint touch up, paintless dent removal, wheel rim repair, windshield repair, bumper repair, auto body repair, headlight restoration and even interior repair So if your vehicle has auto body damage you can get it repaired quite easily for a low cost

If you are just looking for a way to improve your vehicles appearance you may want to consider getting window tint or the 3M clear bra These two things are considered upgrades and will really make your vehicle look great They will not only make your vehicle look great but as an added bonus you will get protection for your vehicle as well Many auto body shops offer these services as well They are also affordable, even though most upgrades are not, that is why they are great choices to get your vehicle looking great and they way you deserve it to look!

With all you do, you deserve to drive a vehicle that looks great! So, find an auto reconditioning shop that can get your current car looking great for you!

If your car is in need of auto reconditioning start looking for a qualified professional to handle your concerns. Look for an auto body professional to take care of your ride from bumper repair to fixing the major auto body repairs at http://www.autoreconditioning.com/

Author : faye bautista

People are now opting these days for hybrid cars and some are thinking of trading their conventional vehicles to the hybrid types The hybrid vehicles have been gaining popularity because of the rise in gasoline It could be awhile before the gasoline prices will improve, combine this with the declining economy It comes as no surprise that people are now favoring hybrid vehicles than the conventional types

Hybrid cars are costing more compared to its conventional counterparts but the consideration is that in the long run the saving it would be able to do should be compared Since hybrid cars are operating with two motors One of the motors is still the conventional engine that runs on gasoline and the other is the electric engine

To power the electric engine the hybrid cars have extra batteries Both of the motors will be responsible in running the vehicle The gasoline engine is then used for longer driving distance Hybrid cars today are equipped with onboard generators When the gasoline engine is used, it will then automatically charge the batteries for the electric motor This means that you don't need to plug in hybrid cars unlike the early versions

Like any new technology, you must remember that you are going to pay more for it Hybrid cars that are available today can cost about five thousand dollars more than conventional vehicles in the same weight class or type But if you think about the fuel economy, you would definitely be willing to pay five thousand dollars more for a car that has great fuel mileage

The gas price is not the only reason why many people would now prefer hybrid vehicles Another reason is that most people are getting more and more concerned about the environment Because hybrid cars will be using less gasoline, it means that it will emit lower levels of tailpipe fumes In fact, a particular hybrid car emits ninety percent less tailpipe fumes than conventional vehicles as well as fifty percent less greenhouse gas

So, if you own a hybrid vehicle, you will also contribute to the environment The government is also offering huge tax breaks to people who own hybrid cars This means that as a hybrid car owner, you will not only save money on gasoline consumption, but you will also be able to save money on tax breaks imposed by the government to hybrid car owners These are the advantages of hybrid cars and why more and more people prefer this type of car

The author is a freelance writer and also writes about business topics such as call centers in the philippines and philippine call center.

Syndication Source: Article Mind Continue reading →

Author : kenneth kwan

If you're a car lover, most articles that you find about car exhausts deals with upgrading your car exhaust systems and finding the most durable and effective materials that make up these systems The truth of the matter is that while vehicles may be useful and attractive, they are also destructive and potentially lethal The fumes that are produced by vehicles, as you may know (from the all the recent "Green" talk) can be devastating to the environment

People purchase cars for a variety of reasons It may be a necessity for those who have to travel to work and don't have the luxury of living in a city with an intricate network of trains and buses, or it could simply be a status symbol Whatever the reason, all buyers are interested in the engine Modern day engines are complex systems that involve emission control systems that require electronic monitoring to determine emissions during varying operating conditions They are complex, but understanding the basic function is easy

Everybody has heard about air pollution and the dire consequences it may bring It's obvious that more cars and its exhausts on the road mean more pollution Pollution due to gas emissions hurts not only those causing the pollution but those who have to inhale these gases Despite antipollution measures, the number of cars on the road continues to rise, and cars are getting bigger and more fuel-consuming with each new model made

The exhausts produced by all vehicles that utilize combustion engines produce adverse health effects on drivers and bystanders alike Toxic chemicals are released daily by the streams of vehicles lining highways and streets The adverse health effects are also often noticed too late because the symptoms don't appear until mature stages of the ailment

There is some good news, however Some model cars utilize great exhausts that have tubing and other components that turn the engine's waste products into useful ones instead of hazardous ones Most exhausts nowadays have one or two exhaust manifolds, mufflers, and a catalytic converter These components lessen the risk of operating the engine and leads less polluting gas output

Even with the new green craze, the number of cars on the road rises as the population rises There has been a dip in the use of cars because of the high price of oil, but pollution does not seem to be lessening If purchasing a car is a necessity, be sure to get exhausts that lessen waste products and maximizes efficiency to lower burning of fossil fuels Having the best performance exhaust for your car is what you should be shooting for

Andy's Auto Sport Car Exhausts: The leading resource for Quality Car Exhausts.
Author : Brenda Williams

The Tatra 603 may be the only car that was built for distinct elite, had sales politically regulated, and starred in films

The 603 was built by Tatra, an automobile manufacturer in the country that was formerly Czechoslovakia Following the communist takeover, the government issued an order to Tatra to design and manufacture a car that would be suitable for official use The car must seat six people with an engine capacity not in excess of 3 6

The result was a large four door sedan with a 2472 cc cast aluminum, V8 engine that was mounted in the rear behind rear swinging half axles The engine was air cooled by oil coolers It had a top speed of 158 kh The transmission was located under the steering wheel and the gearbox was mounted in the rear

The 603 had front and rear bench seats each of which would comfortably seat three people A large luggage compartment was under the hood of the car
The all round independent suspension and soft coil springs provided a comfortable ride

The 603 featured large windows on the front, sides, and rear In the original model, there are three front headlamps mounted under a plastic cover This is the 603 1 The body was modified twice thereafter

A fourth headlamp was added to the 603 2 and the lamps were flanked by an oval grill The 603 3 dispensed with the grill and mounted the headlamps flush with the front

Only one car was produced in 1955 and it was introduced to the public at the 1955 International Six Day Motorevent in Zlin Nine additional cars were built in 1956

When serial production began in 1957, only two cars per day could be completed as the car was crafted almost entirely by hand

Prime Minister Vaclav Kopecky received one of the first T603 s manufactured, probably due to his unwavering support throughout its conception and creation Without this, the 603 may never have been born

In 1958 some minor improvements were made Tatra enlarged the rear wheel openings, changed the door catches and installed chrome fins on the air intake They also enlarged the ventilation openings and improved the air intake

In 1959, a white T603 won a Golden Ribbon in Wesbagen, Germany awarded on the basis of its style, appearance and overall elegance

Sales within Czechoslovakia were restricted to senior members of political organizations and certain industries The 603 was also exported to other countries in Eastern Europe including Germany and Russia, again for official use only Then, in 1960, when Fidel Castro joined the Communist Bloc, he was given a white T603 equipped with air conditioning

The 603 was virtually unknown on the other side of the Iron Curtain Communist political philosophies prohibited any sales to capitalist countries A few were brought into Western countries to serve Czech embassies and were left behind when the officials departed Some were abandoned after exhibition in motor shows

The 603 was the sinister sedan in the film, A Series of Fortunate Events It also appeared in 16 other movies

Between the years of 1955 and 1975, a total of 20,422 cars were produced, almost entirely built by hand Today, the 603 is a classic and is highly sought after by car collectors

http://www.trianglerentacar.com/locations/6541-independence-blvd-charlotte-nc Charlotte Car Rental

Author : Gregg Hall

It seems like just yesterday when the price of gas was fairly insignificant The cost to fill up a traditional family car was nowhere near the fifty dollars or more most of today's drivers are accustomed to paying each time they fuel up But short of selling your gas guzzler for a hybrid vehicle where the cost of gas is essentially a non issue, what can drivers do to conserve both their fuel and their funds? The answer is easier than you think

Map it out You wouldn't start driving without knowing how to get to your destination, right? The same sort of mapping should be used when you prepare your daily routine and the drive for that routine Plan one day for running errands to minimize multiple trips and excessive use of gasoline Try to incorporate stops you need to make on routes you're already taking, such as those to and from work, to eliminate more use of your car than needed These small changes can help conserve your car's pricey gasoline

Know where to go when you need to go Everyone knows that rush hour traffic translates into more time spent sitting and not driving in your car Look for alternate routes to avoid this frustrating, and costly, situation Knowing how to navigate around traffic trouble spots, construction zones, or accidents can keep your car moving, and not sitting, wasting fuel

Get moving! If your destination isn't too far, why not walk or bike? Take your children along to make it a family affair and appreciate the outdoors and extra time with them Both walking and biking are great forms of exercise and another way to be more fuel efficient

Ride share Rotating drivers and car pooling with co workers to the office can help everyone save a little on gas and wear and tear on your car Don't have anyone with whom to commute? See if there's a bus route that can take you where you need to be Public transportation is affordable, convenient and means you'll spend less on gas for your vehicle

Use care in keeping up your car Vehicle maintenance should be done on a regular basis to ensure your car is running optimally This means checking fluid levels and looking for potential leaks that could increase your car's fuel consumption, as well as be indicative of the need for potential repairs It also means checking tire pressure weekly and having them rotated when you have your car's oil changed Watch for signs of wear and tear, as a car with solid tires will get better gas performance on the road A well-maintained car will run more efficiently and, in turn, will perform better on the road

Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Beach, Florida.

Author : Gaetane Ross

What if I told you that you could let the IRS pay for your car upgrade? You would probably jump right on it, right? I know that everyone would love to know that the IRS will actually do this, and the how and why behind this This is why I decided to share this little secret with you The first thing that you should know is that the IRS will pay for any car upgrade that is considered to be beneficial to the economy, as well as the environment This is all made possible by Going Green! Here, you will learn about how the IRS elects to pay, and the numerous advantages that are available to you!

Based on the obvious increase in fuel costs, and the overall shortage of oils that produce fuel, we all know that every single one of us will suffer in one way or another The heavy hitter when it comes to our lives are the prices that we will have to pay to enjoy fuel, and the luxuries that fuel offers such as electricity and other types of utilities Saving money on gas is the first goal that each of us should have There are a number of ways that we can optimize our modes of transportation in order to decrease the amount of money that we spend to fuel those modes, but that takes a lot of work! Besides, the IRS will not pay you to have your spark plugs changed, or for that new fuel filter

If you want a single solution to how to save money on gas, it does not require you to breakdown all the components in your engine and replacing them, all it takes in integrating a hydrogen or water for gas fuel system! By using this type of fuel system, you can easily double the amount of miles that you are able to drive on a full tank of fuel! The IRS likes the fact that you are not having to purchase as much gas and/or diesel because that means that the Federal and State government does not have to keep bargaining with expensive companies to get the best, yet high prices on oil barrels In return for your assistance in this, the IRS will pay for your car upgrade!

If you want to know other reasons on how the IRS pays for your car upgrades that is easy! If you use less oil, and less fuel, you are actually decreasing the amount of pollutants that are released from your vehicle into the atmosphere This helps to reduce the amount of dangerous chemicals that break down the atmosphere and contribute to the effects of greenhouse gases! If you want to make a positive contribution to the environment, save money on fuel, and let the IRS pay for your car upgrade, you should consider implementing the use of a water fuel system

I am FED UP with gas prices! Aren't you? If you want to Beat Insane Fuel Prices and Save a Ton of Money on Gas, I have the SOLUTION. Please visit my website at :

Author : Mark Walters

Is it any surprise that thousands of people have begun contemplating the advantages of hybrid cars? Gas prices are forcing drivers to consider whether or not they should buy a hybrid

With the continuing rise is oil and gas prices the hybrid car advantages are hard to ignore Here s the problem As with any new technology there will be a lot of rumors and myths going around and the hybrid vehicle is no exception

So how do hybrid cars compare to their conventional counterparts and what are the truths behind these myths

Hybrids Are Slow?

It has been commonly thought that hybrids are unable to go fast enough for freeway travel Well that may have been true of the earlier models where the weight of the battery played a significant issue in the cars ability to generate rapid starts and fast speeds Not any more

With the advancements in battery technology, so too have the hybrids advanced They are now quite able to compete with the speeds reached by their conventional counterparts As hybrid vehicles become more mainstream and technology advances they will continue their upward advancement in achievable speeds

Hybrids Cost Too Much!

Are Hybrid cars really too expensive Although the initial outlay can be expensive ( what car isn t?) they quickly make up for their cost in the money you save on fuel Is there any doubt that the way the gas prices are going, a hybrid vehicle will become more and more of a bargain to own

Not to mention the fact that it has been announced that you will soon be able to purchase kits to convert your car to an electrical hybrid, or if money is really tight and you are ready to convert right away you can also invest in a water conversion kit to create a your own water hybrid

No excessive money spent there Only about $150 to purchase the instruction book and all required parts

Hybrid Plug Ins?

Another common myth is that all hybrids need to be plugged in Well this is true of the original electric hybrid vehicles Now there are electrical hybrids that have a battery on board that is charged as you drive

So you are still gaining the advantage of saving on the cost of fuel, without the problem of having to plug in every few hours Research is continuing and that will result in an even better version which will combine the best of both worlds

A electrical hybrid that would run on the plug in power for the first part of the trip and then switch to the charged battery power for the reminder of the trip Imagine having to fill your gas but tank once or twice a month, while your hybrid creates the rest of the need power

There are many advantages to hybrid cars, and as technology advances the advantages will too If you are looking for a great fuel efficient, environmentally friendly vehicle, think hybrid vehicle

Forget the myths, learn the truth and soon you can be driving a hybrid too

Mark Walters reports on advances in hybrid vehicle technologies at http://www.HybridVehicleStar.com.

Author : Mick Legg

Even with the latest drop in gasoline prices most people would still like to get more MPG for their vehicles Let's face it oil prices are so unstable at the moment that they are bound to go up again, and with the economy in such a fragile state you do not want to wait until the last minute to find ways to get more MPG One of the latest innovations in automobiles is the water power cars which use a Hydrogen Generator for vehicles to allow you to run cars on water

The idea of water power cars is not a new one and the technology behind it has been around for quite a while Due to the recent oil and gasoline crisis this technology has had somewhat of a re birth and has been improved to such a high degree that it is really catching on in a big way In fact it is now possible for anyone who wants to to convert their own existing cars into water power cars

If you think that you will be able to run cars on water and nothing else then think again, and forget the idea of filling up your gas tank with a hose pipe What these water power cars do is use a Hydrogen Generator for vehicles to convert small water droplets into HHO gas (hydrogen oxygen) which is then mixed with the regular gasoline to increase the efficiency of you engine and so get more MPG

This Hydrogen Generator for vehicles is small enough to be installed under the hood of your car next to the engine It generates the HHO gas using a small reservoir of ordinary tap water and the electricity from your cars battery This HHO gas is then mixed with the gasoline air mixture of you ordinary fuel and fed into your engine in the usual way As this mixture of combined gases burns more efficiently and with more power you get better performance from you engine which in turn will get more MPG

One of the main advantages of the water power cars besides the gas mileage improvements you get is the fact that they burn the fuel more thoroughly and therefore more cleanly This cleaner burning fuel means that you don't get the high carbon build up that affects the efficient running of an ordinary engine burning just gasoline This means that the life of your engine is greatly increased and you will have far fewer repair bills Also the harmful exhaust gases associated with a normal engine are greatly reduced so helping the environment

To convert you existing cars into water power cars is a lot easier and cheaper than you may think the actual Hydrogen Generator for vehicles can be home built using simple parts available at most auto or hardware stores There is very little modification needed to your existing engine and the whole thing can be easily reversed with no damage if you ever wanted to remove it for any reason

So whatever the price of gasoline wouldn't it be nice to be able to get more MPG from your vehicle? With these water power cars you can expect to get gas mileage improvements of between 35 and 50 So if I where you I would seriously think about converting to water power cars before the next big increase in gasoline prices

Find out how you can convert your cars into water power cars and get more MPG.
Author : Tony Hill

The Mazda MX-5 is the world's best-selling and Britain's most-loved sports car and is popular with both men and women of all ages Research from women's car insurer - Diamond has discovered that the number of women driving convertibles over the last ten years has tripled and it seems as though the MX-5 - a fun and reliable sports car - is one of the most popular choices among women

The MX-5 offers drivers the excitement of sports car driving with the added bonus of being reliable and affordable

However, it could be said that the car company have tried to slightly shed the MX-5's association with 'hairdressers' in the latest re-launch of the popular roadster by 'beefing it up' and trying to appeal more to the male market
The new-look model features a larger front grille, new head and fog lights and more chrome Whether more men will opt for an MX-5 - who have previously dismissed it as a 'girl's car' - remains to be seen However, Mazda have said that since the car's third generation launch it has achieved a 50/50 male/female sales mix which suggests that the latest face-lift is having the desired effect

Why was the sporty little open-top so popular with women in the first place?

The Japanese auto manufacturer have previously launched several limited edition MX-5's to try and attract the female market, including the Angels edition (surrounding the release of Charlie's Angels) which according to Diamond's research has had the desired effect

With the new third edition they are set to produce 250 soft top and 560 roadster coupe special edition 'Niseko' models which come in icy blue and sunlight silver The interior is brown leather and it seems to me as though the colour scheme will appeal to more women than men

As a women myself I would want a sports car that looks good, is affordable and that is fun to drive The MX-5 offers all this We don't want a bulky, complicated sports car - we want a compact and agile one, which is why the MX-5 has been such a hit

When designing the MX-5,the bodywork was made as light as possible whilst ensuring that it was safe - which makes it easy and fun to drive

The new design is more fluid, less curvy and slightly meaner - only slightly - and will perhaps appeal to more men but I still find it attractive and perhaps Mazda have found the right balance

Tony is an online marketer and researcher, he is currently researching new Mazda cars and the new Mazda MX-5

Syndication Source: Article Mind Continue reading →

Author : Everette Jamison

Most drivers neglect to rotate their vehicle's tires They know instinctively that treads wear down over time They also realize that worn treads reduce fuel efficiency and can eventually present a safety risk Despite knowing these things, millions of motorists only consider rotating at the behest of their mechanic If you have some time on your hands and you're handy with a torque wrench, you can actually do the job yourself It's relatively easy Below, you'll learn why rotating your tires is important, as well as the right and wrong ways to do it

Why Rotation Is Necessary

Let's quickly review Treads wear down, but it may surprise you to know that those in the front wear more quickly than those in the rear That's especially true for front- wheel drive vehicles The reason this happens is due to friction between the rubber and the pavement Whenever you drive your car, the friction generates heat, which causes the treads to wear down As a result, they become less responsive, create more resistance (which affects fuel efficiency), and need to be replaced more often

When you rotate your tires, it relieves the pressure created by friction on those placed on the front axle Remember, those in the front wear down more quickly than those in the rear Swapping them lets you prolong the useful life of your tires as long as possible

The Right (And Wrong) Way To Rotate

As noted above, you can perform the rotation yourself with a torque wrench, but it's important to know how to rotate them properly The rule of thumb for most makes and models is to swap front and rear tires without changing sides That is, the passenger rear goes on the passenger front, not the driver's front

A lot of people make the mistake of rotating their tires in an "X" pattern For example, they'll swap the driver's rear and passenger front, and passenger's rear and driver's front They do this thinking that they're spreading the tread wear more evenly In fact, they're probably doing more harm than good because treads wear down based upon the vehicle's suspension system and alignment

Getting Your Hands Dirty

Even though rotating your wheels is a relatively simple job, consider having a mechanic do it for you Given that you only need to have it done approximately every 10,000 miles (check your owner's manual to make sure), it's a low-maintenance task that's inexpensive and doesn't take much time If you're absolutely invested in doing it yourself, buy a sturdy jack (a hydraulic model, if possible) It's dirty work and there's some heavy lifting involved But, you'll save a few dollars and have the pleasure of knowing you fixed it yourself Personally, I prefer having my mechanic do the job

For all your used car parts and used engines visit http://www.everdrive.com

Syndication Source: Article Mind Continue reading →
