Article: I’m sure that most of you have been in a traffic jam at least once in your life, and I’m sure that you hope to never be in that situation again. It isn’t any fun to sit in your car for hours looking at the same car that might be next to you or smelling all of the smoke that is coming off of all of these cars. And let’s not forget all of the 18-wheelers that will be sitting there also. The smoke that they are letting out of their pipes is from the diesel that they burn, and this smoke is harder on us to breathe.
This is one of the reasons why the auto makers are trying to make their car emissions systems greener, as they want to call it these days. The smoke or fumes from these cars of ours go into our air up in the atmosphere, causing damage to not only our air supply but they say that it is causing our planet’s land mass to continue to warm up. They say that if we don’t change our way of life and get our cars to stop doing the damage that our temperatures will keep getting higher and dryer so that in the years to come, we might start to have the really hot weather that they have in South America.
If you would happen to get stuck under an overpass on the interstate and you would have an 18-wheeler next to you, the fumes that will come into your car will cause you to either become sick to your stomach, or you will have to get out of your car so that the fumes aren’t so strong for you to breathe. When the traffic is allowed to move ahead, then you will be able to breathe again and stay in your car. But the damage to your lungs has already happened because you have to cough to try to get rid of these fumes that have probably lined the inside of your lungs.
If you smoke and you are stuck in traffic, these two things you will find out are that they don’t mix well with one another. The longer you have to sit, the thicker the air will become and the more upset you will become because you will have to just sit there and not be able to get to your meeting or the places that you needed to go to in the first place.
