Advantages and Disadvantages of Dealing With A Motor Home Auction Site

Title: Advantages and Disadvantages of Dealing With A Motor Home Auction Site
Article: Have you ever considered buying a motor home? Have you ever stopped to look at the options you have? If so, you know that when you are ready to purchase one, you have a number of ways you can do this. For instance, you can purchase a motor home from a dealer. You can purchase one through a showcase. You can purchase one during a motor home convention or an auction. You can even deal personally with a motor home owner.
If you have always wanted to own a motor home, purchasing a motor home from an auction may sound appealing. The question is not whether you can purchase a motor home from an auction but rather should you purchase one from a motor home auction. If you want to know if dealing with an auction site is the best thing for you, whether you a purchasing a vehicle, truck or motor home, you need to look at the advantages and disadvantages associated with auctions. These pros and cons are going to influence your decision and it’s best to have the knowledge before you start the process.
Two Positive Reasons For Dealing With A Motor Home Auction
Many people who choose to participate in an auction do so for one big reason: prices. Many auctions have very affordable prices. Auction houses/companies will set a minimum price they will choose to sell a piece at and then bidders can raise the price by placing their bids. The last person to bid is the winner of the auction. When bidding is done this way, you can often get a great deal.
Another reason you should go with an auction to purchase your motor home is you never know what you will come across. When you start dealing with auction sites, you’ll often see motor homes that have owners taking part in consignment programs. It’s also not unusual to find a used car dealership selling on motor homes that have been traded in in for a new car. Keep in mind that inventory/stock changes every time the auction is held. For some people, this is just part of the excitement of searching for the perfect motor home.
Two Negative Reasons For Dealing With A Motor Home Auction
As much as it is a positive to see unknown motor homes in the auction, it’s also considered a disadvantage. Why? When you dream of having and owning a motor home, you often have some idea of what you want yours to look like. When you search an auction site for your motor home, you are limited to what is being showcased and auctioned off. However, never settle with a motor home you are not happy with. Keep returning to the auction sites until you find the motor home that screams to you and is what you wanted.
Many auctions sites will advertise that all products are sold “as is”. When you purchase a motor home, you don’t know what you are getting. Many auction sites will allow perspective buyers to look at the motor homes and check them out. However, if you are unable to do this, bid with caution. You don’t want to bid too high and realize that the motor home you purchased is in dire need of repairs or has to be upgraded to use.
It doesn’t matter where you choose to buy your motor home. However, if you choose to purchase one at an auction site, you know you’ll be taking a gamble. It can either pay off or cost you more money than you wanted to pay in the first place. It’s a risk that some people can afford to take while others choose to stay on the sidelines and look elsewhere.
Our number one tip is to ask as many questions as you can about the road worthiness of the vehicle. Ask about accident damage, service history, required repairs etc. The more you know the less risk you are taking. If possible get answers in writing and then you may have cause for redress if you have been mislead. Are Truckies and Greenies Compatible? New Fuel Efficient Trucks
Author: Gregory Smyth
Title: Are Truckies and Greenies Compatible? New Fuel Efficient Trucks
Article: The traditional greenie and the traditional truckie are about as far from each other as you can get – dreadlocks versus mullets, veganism versus rare steak, and bicycle power versus one of the biggest contributors to the greenhouse effect, the heavy duty truck.
However, Hong Kong and other heavy duty truck manufacturers, with Mercedes autos paving the way, are creating a new generation of clean diesel powered trucks. There are even some Hong Kong hybrid trucks and cars thrown in for good measure! Here we look at some of the trendsetters and the innovators on the field of green, renewable trucks for sale.
Mercedes Benz cars have long been known as innovators in the fields of both luxury and environment friendliness. Now they hold the record for the world’s most fuel efficient 40 ton truck, also. The Mercedes auto Actros Bluetec 5 will be available in October 2009, and recently achieved Guiness World Record status as the world’s most fuel efficient 40 ton truck or Hong Kong heavy duty truck.
The test run showed up statistics of a 25-ton trailer being pulled by an Actros, delivering an average of 12.39 miles per gallon, at an average speed of 50 mph over seven straight days of testing. Phew!
Mercedes auto and HK heavy duty truck fanatics needn’t worry that the new Bluetec technology incorporated into trucks will make for a more breakdown-prone or less reliable vehicle – just the opposite. The Actros is actually in its third generation, and the most recent clean diesel model incorporates changes like a PowerShift fully automatic transmission, a ground breaker for the Hong Kong heavy duty truck category.
There are engine choices in these trucks for sale ranging in output from 316hp to 580hp, across a range encompassing six different V6s and three different V8s.
Of course, the truck market is as much about SUV trucks in Hong Kong as it is heavy duty trucks. Ford led the way in this market, beginning at the end of 2007, with its 6.4L Power Stroke turbo diesel option available for most of the F-truck range, with the F250 being one of the most popular SUV trucks to incorporate the new technology.
Some companies are going even further in the fuel efficiency stakes, with Volvo now producing not only hybrid cars in Hong Kong, but hybrid trucks also. This seems counter-intuitive, with a hybrid engine’s traditional low torque and bad efficiency under heavy driving conditions.
However, the Volvo FM Hybrid, a heavy duty truck still under development, shows early test results that suggest around 35% fuel savings can be made. Like other Hong Kong hybrid cars, the Volvo FM hybrid truck will incorporate scientifically advanced features like braking energy that can be recovered for later use in acceleration, a zero emission rate when the engine is in electric mode, and reduced brake wear as well as other maintenance costs.
Remember, the engine works in electric mode alone under acceleration, so what is traditionally the most polluting stage of driving has been reversed in this Hong Kong hybrid truck. As one of the world”s most exciting and prestigious brand, Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong offers luxury passenger cars and commercial vehicles extensive choice of Vito, Sprinter, Viano, Actros, Axor and Atego to the customers in Hong Kong and Macau.

Upgrading Those Rims
Author: Jim Brown
Title: Upgrading Those Rims
Article: Does your ride look old or dull? Do your friends roll on tricked out cars? A major look enhancer for your car can be modifying the rims. Car rims are like hair on people. Changing that hairstyle can usually be a subtle change but can enhance your over all look. By principle changing your car rims may make your ride look sporty but that’s all there is to it the look. But this can cause losses on power and on your pockets.
Choosing the Right Diameter Size
Initially everyone wants their ride to stand out from the rest, shoving an almost impossible to steer rims under that fender. Some would go as big as 20 inch rims for that Asian compact car, but would that be all worth all the hassle, all the trouble it can cause for not being able to steer well?
Aftermarket rims come in all sizes starting from 13 inches to a whooping 26 inches all suited for compacts, muscle, Asian Utility, and Sports Utility Vehicles. Now for all serious racers or budding racers to be, it is a must to know that to the bigger the rim diameter the heavier it becomes which translates to a loss in precious horsepower. But for those who opt for form over function the bigger the rims the lower the car looks. When the rims are bigger in diameter the tire size becomes thinner and the wheel becomes heavier. The thinner the rubber the more expensive it can get.
Is Having a Custom Rim Worth All That?
Having a custom ride starts with the rims and this could turn your ride into a chick magnet. But would this be all worth it? Installing custom rims could alter your ride’s handling and gauge readings.
The car’s speedometer can be affected if you change the diameter of the rims and the tires especially if it is bigger or smaller than what it had on from the factory. Having larger wheels can trick the car’s gauges to think that the car is going slower since there is lesser wheel revolution per kilometer or mile covered. With this set-up the driver might get speeding tickets and a wrong reading on the odometer.
Bigger rims can make the driver cause an under steer in order that the tires and the fenders don’t come in contact with each other. This as well prevents damaging the paint. Another thing to be extra careful about if you are driving a vehicle with wheels having large diameter rims are potholes, street gutters and street furniture. A wheel that has thin rubber tires means that the rims are closer to the ground and may come in contact with street furniture and potholes that could damage your rims permanently. Save More On The Move With The Right Truck Rental

Title: Save More On The Move With The Right Truck Rental
Article: Almost no one wants to deal with a move. Although it’s exciting to get a new place, the packing, lifting and unpacking just aren’t fun. Hiring movers might be an option for some, but for others the added expense takes away from other necessities they may need in the new place. Those looking to save a little money might benefit from a truck lease. Rather than having to round up every truck you can get your hands on and a ton of friends to drive and load, a single large moving truck on a lease can solve a lot of problems.
Before running out and leasing a big moving truck, however, it’s a good idea to assess what you really need. If you’re moving from a tiny studio apartment, it’s not likely you’ll need a massive truck to get the job done. But, if you have the contents of a whole home, you just might.
Truck rental agreements can be a little confusing for someone who’s never leased before.
* Exact rental dates. Make sure you have arranged for the truck for the days and hours you need it. Don’t leave this to chance. There’s nothing worse than having 10 friends show up to help you move and finding out the truck you need has been rented to someone else for that day.
* Pricing. Does the rental fee include mileage, too, or will that be an extra expense? Ask.
* Return policy. Know where you need to bring the truck back to when you’re done. If you’re moving in town, this will be easy. But, cross-country moves may require a map for the drop off location.
* Is a full tank required upon return? If it is, you’ll want to make sure this is completed before you turn the truck in.
* Is insurance offered. If it is, you likely will want to buy it unless your regular car policy will cover the truck from any damage while you’re driving it.
Once you’ve determined these things, you should be set to make the lease. Get a truck that meets your needs and isn’t too big for you to handle. Be certain to understand the terms of the lease and don’t forget to check on rental dates and confirm the reservation.
Before you pick up the truck, make sure:
* You’ve done your packing.
* Make sure breakables have been secured.
* Clearly label boxes so friends who are helping don’t put 50 pounds of books on top of your china!
* Make certain valuable items that won’t go on the truck, or shouldn’t, have been set aside so no one will load them. This includes such things as important papers, expensive antiques and even electronic devices.
A rental truck can really help make a move go more smoothly. Getting ready for the big day before you get the big truck, however, can also be a big assistance. #1 Resource
