The BMW Z4 was introduced to the market in 2002 as a direct replacement for the BMW Z3 BMW were said to have addressed some of the design issues that were discovered during the reign of the Z3 when designing the Z4 The problems covered issues with the suspension and chassis The Z4 is longer and larger than the Z3 and is much heavier too Initially you could only get a Z4 roadster, but then eventually they launched the coupe in 2006 – and about time too!
The rear suspension in the Z4 is completely different to the Z3 as it uses multi-link suspension which allows for good handling and good ride quality simultaneously
The second generation Z4 was recently launched in 2008 and debuted in America in 2009 The exterior and the interior have both been completely revamped The new Z4 has a retractable hard top which is easy to use and folds down in a matter of seconds The Z4 is also the first BMW to use iDrive The innovative iDrive system allows you to manage several functions throughout your car through just a few instruments – which is meant to benefit the driver and make everything that little bit simpler The most frequently used functions are placed around the steering wheel making them easily reachable
