Finding Your Car in the Auto Classifieds

Author : Andy West

There’s no doubt that the Internet has brought about a whole new way of life and simplified just about every aspect of day-to-day living One of the most difficult tasks that has become much easier is buying a car There are a number of reliable sites that have made it their mission to offer a safe buying and selling online experience No longer relegated to combing through endless newspaper listings, phone calls and driving around to scout prospective purchases, the internet allows you to gather all your data in the click of a mouse This saves time, money, and best of all, sanity Even selling a car has become not only easier but more efficient thanks to the options offered in Internet based auto classifieds

With some sites offering the option of entering all the search data, such as make, model, year, even number of doors or color, a person never has to bother with going through ads that do not interest them Looking through auto classifieds can also give the consumer a good idea of the market price of the vehicle they are looking for The posting of pictures is the biggest reason people prefer looking for a car to buy online For the most part, they will be able to see the outer condition of the vehicle and decide if it is the type of vehicle they can see themselves driving

Selling a vehicle through auto classifieds that are online can be a very efficient process from start to finish Ads can be placed locally or abroad; and placing pictures along with information helps to draw in prospective buyers and serious inquiries More than that, with a little research, sellers can find out not only if there is a market for the vehicle they are selling but also where the best market for the vehicle is at the current time By placing the ad in the right areas at the right time, the seller is more likely to get the amount they are asking for, and in a fraction of the time compared to just placing the ad in a newspaper

Those selling specialized vehicles such as kit cars or collector vehicles have found great success with online auto classifieds because the ads are far-reaching Living in an area where certain vehicles are hard to find or currently unavailable in the chosen price range can likely be found online and with only a few clicks of a mouse Even vehicles such as RV’s and other service vehicles have found their way into auto classifieds, as they are vehicles that can be harder to sell, except when it comes to placing them on the Internet Private sellers of these types of vehicles often make online venues their first and only choice for this reason

Along with research and pictures, placing a well thought out and concise ad is key to successfully selling any vehicle with online auto classifieds Purchasing a vehicle is no small task and people want to feel good about what they are buying Prospective buyers can be chased away by ads that are too short, too long or have bad grammar As previously stated, pictures can draw in more viewers to an ad but the pictures should be of good quality and offer more than one angle of the vehicle if possible All information, including the price, should be reasonable and clearly stated in the ad to avoid confusion

Online auto classifieds are an excellent tool for buying or selling all types of vehicles The hassle of finding the right vehicle and the hassle of finding serious buyers can be kept to a minimum when going the online route

Simple Things That You Can Do To Prolong The Life Of Your Sports Car

Author : Gregg Hall

Sports cars are cars that are expensive and will be a huge concern to their owners

There are so many ways that you can take care of your sports car and extend the life of it also Below are three ways that you can do just that

Everyone knows that the internals and guts of the car is what pushes it and makes all the power The motor the transmission and all the inner workings are what make the car run and what is favored over the outside appearance Even though the aerodynamics of the car of always good it is the inside of the what’s under the hood that powers the car and what should be taken more care of then the paint and finish

Even though the neglect of the outside will make it look bad it is still what is under that hood that makes it run not the paint and finish

If you want your car to look and run good then you need to take care of it keep it washed and waxed and have new tires and new oil changed every 3000 miles even though the tires will last a bit longer than that

The car should always be protected from the weather at all times when it’s not being used or driven You should always keep it covered and away from harm

If the car has a mechanical problem then it must be fixed of course before you start driving it again or it will just get worse and it will cause more problems as you continue to drive it

The regular maintenance of a sports car is just as important as if you were driving any other car because it needs to be taken care of either way It needs to be tuned up, needs to have the oil changed on time, never over ran just needs to be kept to par or it is just going to turn into a pile of garbage

A lot of people will take the mentality if it isn’t broke why do you need to fix it? Well it need to be upgraded especially if the car is old and hasn’t had new parts since it was made it will most likely need a few new parts to keep it running good

Sports cars need to be treated well and not over ran, if you are to over run the motor then you can cause catastrophic failure or just mess it up really bad that is why it is important to know how to take care of your sports car and know how to fix it when there is something wrong

You will just need to keep the car tuned up and keep it running good if you want it to last a long time and be worth the money you spend on it If you don’t keep it well maintained then you just spent the money for no reason because it won’t last more then a few years if that

How to Find Army Jeeps for Sale

Author : Ryan Harris

Many of us are interested in buying an Army Jeep, but they can be hard to find, which can be frustrating So where can you find old Jeeps for sale that are still in good condition? Here are few places:

Auctions

Auctions are always a good place to find old Army Jeeps Why? Because many people prefer to put them up for sale in this manner compared to other options, such as classified ads – online or otherwise Some believe that putting Army Jeeps for sale in an auction will allow them to make more money off of the Jeeps than other means because they can sell to a wider audience One of the nice things about an auction is that you can often see the condition and quality of the Army Jeeps for sale, whereas you may not know what they look like before you buy them if you go through other options such as a classified ad that does not have pictures An auction site will normally have multiple pictures, as well as a long description that you will not get in a classified

Classifieds

Classifieds are also somewhere to find Army Jeeps for sale that are in good condition You can search for Army Jeeps for sale in online classified ads, or the ads in your local newspapers From here you can either look locally or nationally Sometimes it is easier to find better deals on Jeeps for sale in another part of the country – but be careful about travel or shipping costs On the other hand, an exciting road trip in your new Army Jeep would be well worth the trip!

Also, make sure you know the quality of the Army Jeeps which you are looking at Older Jeeps are known to rust, and depending on how much and in what way it has been used, it might have strain on parts that the current owner may not consider – or may not want you to know about Don’t forget, many of the people putting up their old Jeeps for sale may be doing so because maintenance on them has become prohibitively pricey for the owner The parts for older vehicles are expensive and sometimes hard to come by Many parts on Army Jeeps for sale are no longer manufactured or are not manufactured to as high of a quality as the original part was If you are a technically and mechanically savvy person, make sure you get your hands on the original maintenance manuals as well Why? Because, as much as we love our Jeeps, they do have problems as they get older – just like the rest of us Having the original maintenance manuals will help you fix the problems yourself, or at least understand what the problem is when you take it in for repairs These manuals can also help you find out the exact part you need for replacements

Hopefully the above information will help you find the perfect Army Jeep!

Dodge Challenger Makes a Comeback

Author : Kevin Dark

The Dodge Challenger was a car that was first released in the 1970s and at that time every teenage boy in the United States wanted one Now however they are coming back and it seems that the love for the Dodge Challenger will start all over again Due to be released in 2008 you can be sure that there will be a lot of people that will lose a few nights sleep as they start to get excited about the release of this legendary car

The Dodge Challenger secured a place in Americana car culture forever as the classic 1970s muscle car that every teenage boy wanted There was always that one really cool guy in school that had rich parents and they bought him a Dodge Challenger, usually bright orange to draw even more attention to this fast car Ladies flocked to the guy with the cool car and the guys wanted to be his friend, riding in the Dodge Challenger was a privilege and honor to most high school kids Then there were always those guys that somehow got their hands on an older model Dodge Challenger or one that had been in an accident that they worked on in a garage for weeks on end to fix it up and hot rod it around campus

A concept of the 2007 Dodge Challenger was revealed at the North American International Auto Show recently and people went wild for it Although it does not appear as though a Dodge Challenger will actually be available to the public in 2008, the 2007 Dodge concept was a spectacular sight They even made it bright orange to remind the crowd of just what the Dodge Challenger had been nearly thirty years ago The exterior may be the same as the 1970s version of the Dodge Challenger, but the 2007 Dodge concept Challenger had many differences under the hood and body The new Dodge Challenger has a brand new platform that is also found in the Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum and Dodge Charger This LX platform is impressive from start to finish, as it is one of the most highly refined and responsive chassis available in any American manufactured automobiles The importance of a solid underpinning, like the LX provides, is essential when handling the amount of horsepower generated by the famous Hemi performance engine The 6 1-liter SRT8 models generate 425 horses and 420 pounds per foot of torque, which can be a lot for a driver to handle without a well-built chassis to support the power

The similarities in appearance between the old Dodge Challenger of the seventies and the new 2007 Dodge concept car are evident to event he amateur eye However, the new version is slightly longer than the original, by nearly half of a foot and it is two inches wider This does not seem to impact the stunning presentation of the nostalgic vehicle to most people because the overall look is still so cool The updated mechanical features and power of the classic Dodge Challenger will only help to increase the likelihood of the cars success in the market in 2008 or whenever Chrysler decides to release it The way things have been going in the automotive industry; Detroit could sure use the boost from a popular new car coming out of the once dominating car capital of the world We will just have to wait and see how well the Dodge Challenger can comeback after three decades of hibernation, the challenge it on!

Not everyone will remember these cars but we can all agree on one thing and that is that they were defiantly in need of a facelift When they were first released they were new and looked perfect for that market But now Dodge need to make sure that you do not look like you are driving a dust cart

RV Maintenance Prevention Better Than Cure

Author : Steve Thomas

You’ve purchased an RV and the one thing that will help you have many years worth of enjoyment from it is without doubt a regular maintenance schedule You may have negotiated a maintenance plan into your purchase price, if that’s the case great If you have bought a second hand RV, you may be able to do a lot of the preventative maintenance yourself

Like any expensive item you cherish, you’ll no doubt make sure that it’s well protected and well looked after Preventative RV maintenance is all about keeping a check on those parts that are either known to cause problems or will probably cause problems if left poorly maintained

A few of the more common things to keep a close check on when maintaining an RV are very similar to that of a car These maintenance items will ensure that the basics are covered

Fuel System Check

Regularly check that the fuel filter is clean and free from debris that may have come from the fuel tank Clogged filters will make it harder for the RV’s engine to operate efficiently as the correct mixture of fuel to air may not be maintained within the combustion chamber This can cause what’s known as “kangaroo” jumping or juddering and is not a pretty sight

Air Filter System

Check the air filters and replace them regularly at least 3 to 4 times a year depending on how dirty or dusty the local environment is Air filters keep the air that’s introduced into the engine combustion chamber clean When these filters become blocked or compromised they will affect the efficiency and hence MPG of your RV Check them regularly and replace when required or at the interval you have decided upon

Braking System Check

Be sure to check the brake pads and brake fluid before attempting any long journey Brake pads will get worn down fast in more difficult or challenging terrain Check the brake fluid lines regularly for damage or leaks

Ignition System Check

The contact points on the ignition need to be checked at least once every six months Your engine may be having a hard time starting and this is exactly the type of problem caused by poor contacts If you have a direct injection engine, clogged injectors could cause the same problem

Cleaning products are readily available that you can put into the fuel tank that can add some life to your injectors You should though know that if this does not work, your injectors may be past the point of saving and will need to be changed

Suspension System Check

Tires that have uneven wear patterns are often the result of suspension problems or may just be incorrect inflation pressures If the RV leans heavily in turns or the front end drops low when braking, there is a real possibility that you have suspension problems

The old test for shock absorbers was to manually bounce each corner of the RV, if possible and watch to see if there are more than just a few bounces Excessive bouncing will probably mean that the shocks need changing If you have a large RV, then it would be best to get the above symptoms checked out at a local garage that offers RV maintenance

Preventative maintenance will help your RV run for much longer and give you extra years of service Look after your RV and it will look after you It would be safe to say it’s a bit like a marriage

Steve Thomas writes about the importance of preventative RV maintenance. Get more information today on the latest in RV news at http://www.rvnewz.com/

The Basics Of RV Hitches

Author : Everette Jamison

Whether you’re a camping enthusiast or you simply enjoy the freedom of the open road, recreational vehicles (RVs) can be an ideal way to experience both But, it’s important to realize that RVs are designed in different ways and some will require a towing vehicle (i e another car, truck, or SUV with a powerful engine) When that’s the case, you’ll need to invest in a good RV hitch Today, I’ll explain how to choose the right unit for your circumstances I’ll also provide a few basic tips for installing your hitch

Selecting The Right Unit

Choosing the right model to buy is mostly a matter of the size and weight of the vehicle you’re going to tow RVs come in a wide range of sizes Some are small and can be towed behind a 4-cylinder car or truck Others are massive and should only be connected to a V-8 engine Most hitches are categorized by 5 weight classes The weight class rates the amount of pounds they can tow without sacrificing safety or stability Keep in mind that the classification includes the amount of weight inside the RV, not just that of the RV itself

Class 1 hitches can be used to tow up to 2,000 lbs Class 2 can haul 3,500 lbs while Class 3 can carry up to 5,000 lbs Class 4 is safe for loads up to 7,500 lbs and Class 5 can be used to haul 10,000 lbs An important note: the classifications I’ve just described only reflect the towing ability of the hitch The vehicle that you’re using to tow the load must have sufficient power

The units in Classes 4 and 5 can also distribute the payload weight across the towing vehicle’s axles They typically connect to the bed of a large truck which helps to displace some of the weight

Tips For Installing Hitches

First, if you’ve never installed one of these before, consider having someone with experience help you Before starting, take a close look at the hitch and your towing vehicle It’s possible that you may need to move a few things in order to connect the two Once you’ve secured your RV onto your towing vehicle, you’ll need to bolt it down underneath the bumper for added stability

If you’re trying to install fifth wheel hitches (used for larger payloads), it will attach onto the bed of your truck Then, you’ll need to bolt it down by climbing underneath your truck and drilling holes through the bed Again, unless you’re experienced, have someone on hand to help

RV hitches are necessary to haul campers, trailers, and other loads safely Remember, choosing the right unit and installing it properly should not be approached haphazardly Take your time and have someone with experience help you if you’ve never done it before

Motor Homes Make Yours Green

Author : Andrew Stratton

You might think that all recreational vehicles are giant energy-wasting gas guzzlers And while you probably don’t want to make your daily work commute via RV, taking a motor home vacation is not going to punch a hole through the ozone layer If you think that recreational vehicles are just eco-hazards on wheels, you’ll be surprised to know that there are many ways to convert your motor home into an earth-friendly vehicle A few simple tips, like the ones here, can help ensure that your RV trip is environmentally friendly

1 Don’t waste fuel Maximize your RV’s fuel efficiency by checking the tire air pressure, keeping your vehicle up to date on oil changes and maintenance, and driving safely If your vehicle is in top notch condition, it will get better gas mileage Having maps or a GPS system handy will also help minimize unnecessary driving if you happen to get lost They can also help when you’re having trouble finding a suitable campsite for your motor home

2 Plan your travels according to the weather If it’s cold, head south In the heat, drive north That way you’ll stay comfortable and not have to rely on running costly, energy-sucking air conditioners and heaters To optimize the climate inside your RV even further, consider having solar panels installed on the roof They can help your motor home run on sun power Make sure your RV is well insulated and sealed also

3 Rough it out Your motor home may be outfitted with the latest technology and comforts, but you didn’t drive hundreds of miles away from home to eat another TV dinner Avoid using TVs, microwaves, and any other energy-consumer if you really don’t have to The same is true for battery operated devices You don’t want to drain them either Use the opportunity to learn how to cook over an open flame, build campfires or play board games instead of watching DVDs

4 Turn your RV into a recycling center Just because you’re on the road, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t separate aluminum and plastic Don’t use disposable items if you don’t have to Buy reusable glasses and dishes and wash them once finished You can also outfit the inside of your RV with recycled goods and furniture Sharing and trading goods with fellow campers you meet along the way can also be helpful

5 Learn how to conserve necessities Besides energy, you can also learn how to adapt by conserving water and food Once you begin your travels, you’ll find there are times when you simply have no easy access to certain items, making you more aware of how you use them

6 Dispose of waste appropriately If you create waste, make sure you dispose of it properly Sometimes you just can’t recycle or reuse something When that happens, make sure it gets put in a trash bag Also, invest in some eco-friendly products to clean up your mess With some careful planning and attentiveness, your motor home can become a green machine Ignore the finger wagging commuters in SUVs Talking to fellow RV enthusiasts on your travels can reveal even more ways that you can contribute to the environment

Doing Your Pre Trip Inspection on Your Rental RV

Author : Robert Martin

Once you have rented your RV for your scheduled vacation, you are probably going to be very excited and raring to go Well, of course this can be a very exciting time, especially when you have been waiting for such a vacation for quite some time However, it is very important that you do not forget to do a few things before you embark This means doing a little bit of a pre-trip inspection of your rental RV to make sure that everything is just where it needs to be Such an inspection may seem like a daunting task, but it can mean a world of difference between a good trip and an amazing trip

Certainly, you are going to want to make absolutely sure that you and your family are going to have a very safe trip wherever you will be traveling to One of the things that you may want to think about doing is taking a look at all of the smoke alarms that are placed within your rental RV This not only means checking to see if they are in proper working order, but you may want to try and check the actual battery life in them As you have heard before, it is always better to be safe than sorry, which goes for both your home and your rental RV

When it comes to the engine, you may want to take a look at all of the different hoses and belts to make sure that they are not worn at all It is important that if you happen to notice any such problems with the hoses, especially with the radiator, that you have your RV rental company fix them right away before you leave

Walk around your rental RV and go ahead and do a little bit of an exterior inspection A great idea is to take a look at all of the tires to be sure that the tread is sufficient You can also check out all of your headlights, brake lights and turn signals to make sure that there are not any bulbs that need to be replaced Such a bulb replacement can be very simple to do by yourself, or you can also have the RV rental agency fix it for you

Because you may not be all that familiar with your rental RV, you can always go through a little bit of a checklist with the instruction manual This can help you remind yourself of just how the rental RV works and what all of the major components are There also may even be a hard copy of a pre-trip inspection checklist in the manual itself that you can take a look at You will be amazed at just how helpful such a process can be when you are getting ready to hit the road in your rental RV
