Keep More Money in your Pocket And Gas up Less Often
Author : Gregg Hall
Gas prices all over the world have been soaring for years, giving drivers no other option than to pay the high prices With more people driving vehicles that require more gas on a weekly basis, the rise in prices in being felt financially Although experts agree that the rise in gas prices are not significant enough to deter consumers from driving their big trucks and sports utility vehicles, the thrifty spender may see things differently A popular option for those looking for a cheaper way to travel is the hybrid
The “hybrid” is something of mixed origin or composition by definition A hybrid vehicle is one that has both a gasoline engine and an electric engine in which it operates upon The gasoline engine is often smaller than in regular vehicles, allowing the electric motor to compensate with energy A high-voltage battery charges the electric motor when the car is parked Today’s hybrids can operate using either engine or both at the same time This efficient system is great for the environment and even better for your pocket book
With hybrids running on both a gasoline engine as well as an electric motor, they do not require as much gasoline as regular vehicles Most hybrid vehicles average around 50 mpg, which is amazing when compared to conventional gasoline engine vehicles The incredible gas mileage is one reason hybrids are being thrust to the front of the industry during the soaring gas prices On another note, since hybrids burn less gasoline than most vehicles, they also emit fewer pollutants Studies show they are 90% cleaner than a conventional automobile The small and efficient engines also help reduce their total exhaust emissions, making them not only financially wise choices but also environmentally wise choices
The fact that hybrids have two engines that work together to get the most efficient results in vehicle travel is the main reason why hybrids get great gas mileage There are a few other minor reasons that also contribute however Most hybrids are being sold with low-rolling resistance tires included These tires are named as such because they have proven to roll easily on the road The easily rolling measurement also means that they minimize the energy used by the tire With the tires using less energy, they are allowing the car to be more efficient and in turn get better gas mileage Studies have shown that hybrids with low-rolling resistant tires have saved drivers an average of 6% more on gasoline usage
The average driver of a sports utility vehicle may complain of spending up to $50 a week on gasoline for their vehicle These drivers are those they have only traveled in their own town during the week An average hybrid driver estimates they spend less than $20 a week in gas for their hybrid This is due to the fact that hybrids get better mpg than conventional gasoline powered cars Different models of hybrids will in fact get different mpg rates
Charts show that if you own a vehicle that gets 21 mpg, you will spend an average of $8,500 a year on gasoline If you own a hybrid that gets 46 mpg, you will save over $4,600 a year, spending only $3,900 on gasoline Buying a hybrid that gets 55 mpg or more, you will save between $500 and $1000 more a year compared to a 46mpg hybrid These facts are enough to make conventional SUV owners want to run toward a hybrid
If you are tired of paying way too much at the pump, then you should certainly consider an alternative form of transportation You can choose to ride your bike, take a city bus, or carpool The most luxurious option however is to purchase a hybrid There are many different models of hybrids offered at this time There are many more models coming out soon Many hybrid models have distinct looks, while others, like the Toyota Camry Hybrid will have a typical “Camry” look No matter what styles and models you like, there is something in a hybrid option for you So, take a drive down to your local hybrid car lot and take one for a test drive today! You will love that you are driving a car that is great to the environment as well as easy on the pocketbook when it comes to gasoline

Mitsubishi Aim To Go Electric
Author : Tony Hill
Over the past few years Mitsubishi have been paying particular attention to the development of electric vehicles, they researched lithium-ion batteries from an early stage which have proved to be an essential component in the production of electric vehicles
They are now planning to launch their new Mitsubishi I MiEV ‘all-electric’ car to customers during 2009 There is talk that it will be released to the European market as either the Peugeot 1001 or the Citroen Re-Volt – as both are considered more European Friendly
Whether the ‘all-electric’ car will be a success in Europe remains to be seen Electric cars are often looked at with a lot of skepticism and have an image of being really slow, boring and not that practical Surely it would take years for an electric car to take off in the UK – where would you charge it when the battery ran out? There’s not many plug sockets at petrol stations yet There would have to be charging stations built across the country for them to even work which would require a huge investment
There’s also the fact that a lot of people want more from their car than to simply get from A to B They want the complete driving experience, they want the car to look good and they want to feel good driving it Quite frankly the majority of electric cars look quite ridiculous and aren’t practical – they definitely wouldn’t accommodate the changing needs of an active family
There are some overwhelming plus points though The cost of running the Mitsubishi I Miev is one third of the price it costs to run a gasoline vehicle, it emits zero CO2 and it runs extremely quietly So this ‘all electric’ vehicle is seriously good for the environment, but I just can’t see it taking off across the UK The place I can see it have a positive influence though is in London It sounds as though it would be ideal for inner-city driving -lower emissions mean a “less-smoggy” capital, a quieter capital and therefore a less-stressful capital
There should be a cut-off point around London where people step out of their petrol vehicles and jump into an electric car – therefore everyone will look the same, drive the same and emit far less CO2 – they can save their normal cars for cruising at the weekends
If you don’t like the sound of an electric vehicle then Mitsubishi make lots of other ‘normal’ cars including the stylish little Mitsubishi Colt and the sporty Mitsubishi Lancer evolution

Some Crucial Things To Keep In Mind To Help You Choose Your Dream Car
Author : Gregg Hall
The obvious opening move towards buying the car of your dreams is to figure out what sort of car you need to look for You do need to be realistic, we all have that thought in our heads of our dream car, but it just might not be practical to get that specific car
You should bear in mind that you’re not only attempting to establish and/or rebuild your credit, but you want a ride as well Think inside the parameters that make sense for you You want to be sure that you are able to not only pay the payments, but also that you acquire a car that works for you It is significant to recognize what you’ll be able to afford before you go shopping It’s OK to dream because you never know what you will discover in your search You might find someone who’s willing to give up a car that you’ve always dreamed of at a steal of a price
Look all over for your automobile You do not have to be confined only to car dealers Glance over the want ads and see what vehicles people are selling on their own This might be the best possible way to find a great car because you don’t have to deal with an aggressive salesperson
When you find an automobile you think you want to see, make the phone call, but keep the following checklist handy when asking questions about that car Ask specifically if the vehicle has ever had any damage Ask what the mileage is, how many owners the car has had How often has the oil been changed? Has the vehicle been maintained properly and at regular intervals and are their records to prove it?
You might believe that asking this many questions may constitute an invasion of privacy or a bit intrusive Abolish that thought Anyone who is sincere about selling their car will be pleased to answer double that many questions Plus, they’re more probable to accept you as a serious buyer when you project a prepared image If you think you may be interested in an automobile, ask to take a test drive, however, prior to doing so, research the car you are going to be looking at There are many ways to do this
Kelly Blue Book is known as the “bible” of a vehicle’s value Simply log on to www kbb com and respond to the questions they call for to estimate the approximate value of the vehicle in question One of the queries will be what condition is it in: Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor
Before you go drive the car, you’ll only know the owner’s opinion of the car A lot of people over-exaggerate the real condition in hopes of making the car seem better than what it is We advise that you enter in “Fair” prior to driving the car to get an estimated value If the car itself comes out to be an excellent rating, you can always reassess the price that Kelly gives you and determine whether or not the car is worth the asking price

Hot Body Kits Learn to Mod Your Car
Author : kenneth kwan
Customizing your car is could be the best way to individualize your car and give it some character In our mass produced world, a customized car will make your car unique Car body kits are considered to be the better technique for giving your car that independent character A body kit gives you the flexibility to choose what parts of your car to customize and you can do those customizations on your own
In definition, a body kit is merely one or more changes or improvements to the exterior of a car The common parts found in a body kit are the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and spoilers Other body kits can be purchased to add and modify other parts of the car
The body kit doesn’t just give your car a cool and original new look, it also makes your car more aerodynamic and does some great things for the performance Body kits are made from one or other of two different materials: fiberglass and polyurethane
Car owners usually choose polyurethane for its resistance to damage in cold weather and rough terrain It is much better than fiberglass in extreme cold and terrain, because fiberglass will crack or chip much more easily than polyurethane The downside is that fiberglass, unlike polyurethane, can be fixed if it becomes damaged while a damaged polyurethane body kit can’t be fixed Also, fiberglass body kits generally fit cars better then kits made with polyurethane
It is easy to purchase your car body kit The difficult part will be deciding whether you want fiberglass and polyurethane as the material for you kit Once you have decided on the type of material, you can really narrow down your choices You can get ideas of which type of body kit is right for your vehicle by checking the internet for reviews or asking your local auto parts dealer
After choosing the type of car body kit that is right for you and your car, you need to contact the body kit’s manufacturer to find out information about the body kit’s price, warranty, installation process and any other information they can give you They can also tell you the advantages of buying a body kit
One thing to consider and remember is that many car experts suggest that you not purchase a body kit if its installation process requires you to remove any factory-installed parts of your car to make the body kit fit But in the end, you are the ultimate decision maker when you decide to purchase body kits online and furnish a new hot look for your car

Learning The Basics Of An Ignition System
Author : Everette Jamison
The purpose of your car’s ignition system is to time a spark that ignites gas at the precise moment needed to power your engine Several different parts work together to make this happen Your car’s engine is basically a huge pump Air and gas are pumped in, producing energy that turns the tires and moves the vehicle That’s an oversimplification, but sufficient for learning how the components of the system work Below, I’ll briefly describe the parts involved and take you through the process of igniting the gas and powering your engine
Parts And Their Jobs
Your ignition system is comprised of spark plugs, a distributor (and cap), rotor, and coil The coil is what transforms an electrical current from your car battery into a spark When the coil successfully creates a spark (and it needs to be potent enough to actually ignite the fuel), the spark is transferred to your car’s distributor The reason it’s called a distributor is because it spins and allocates the sparks from the coil to multiple spark plugs It does that through the rotor
The rotor spins with the distributor and contacts the cylinders of the engine When it does this, it transfers the sparks to the spark plug wires At this point, the spark has nearly traveled to where it needs to be Each of the spark plug wires is attached to the distributor cap through its own contact point Those wires send the spark directly to the spark plugs which are mounted in your car’s cylinder head When the gases from the fuel flow into the cylinder, the spark ignites them, causing combustion
The process I’ve just described happens over and over, tens of thousands of times while your car is in operation
A Seamless System
Your ignition system is most effective when the sparks are precisely timed In the past, this was done by employing a points-and-condenser module to tell the distributor when to allocate the sparks to the spark plugs Today, most cars are equipped with computers (called ignition modules) that control the timing They do so by notifying your car’s engine control unit about the placement of the pistons If an ignition module fails, it’s usually necessary to replace it
Over the past few years, manufacturers have begun experimenting with distributorless ignition systems Rather than a single coil creating the sparks needed to ignite the fuel, each spark plug has its own coil That effectively eliminates the need for the distributor It’s still considered a young technology, but holds significant promise

Custom Exhausts Increased My Car s Performance Dramatically
Author : kenneth kwan
If you’re looking for power, a testosterone-fueled desire of the highest order, custom exhausts are for you In particular, people who enjoy making alterations to the car for the sake of extra torque tend toward purchasing custom-made exhausts systems Custom exhausts replace the old model in your car and will increase performance by dispelling exhaust fumes in a highly efficient manner
Basic factory exhausts are usually too rigid in their selection and overall output Car manufactures are churning out vehicles in record time and have no time for state-of-the-art exhaust systems Instead, they meet the minimum regulations set by the EPA and move on with their production; it’s all about making a profit However, a new car exhaust will be tailored to your vehicle and by working with the unique aspects of your car, be both a performance booster and an eye pleaser
In your search for a car exhausts system, take into account your budget, the system material, and what you’re looking to enhance If you’re looking for maximum power and an aggressive purr that will shake the earth, concentrate on high-priced exhausts If you don’t wish for a system capable of producing sounds more deep and prolific than a Led Zeppelin guitar riff, look into the basics By replacing cylinder heads or catalytic converters, you can still benefit from a dramatic change in vehicle performance In fact, some people change their exhaust pipes periodically to avoid rusting and to keep the system as healthy as possible
It is recommended that you start your search with custom exhaust kits and then go from there In addition, the web is the best method by which to find tailored exhausts Most websites allow you to pick your car model, car year, and then offer valuable advice Visit a site before you get overwhelmed by the wealth of information on exhausts – deciding to go with an individual exhaust part or a whole kit is one that can be explored in greater detail on the web
Before you take the plunge, remember that not all parts of exhausts system will result in significant increases in car performance Important parts include a muffler that will give you enough torque to die for and a catalytic converter that will clean exhaust emissions substantially A custom exhaust system is one investment that will last for years to come Take the time to learn which one will fit best and look best for your car and you’re sure to a faster, stronger car

History Of Hybrid Car
Author : Albert TAY
In 1905, the application for a patent for a hybrid gasoline and electric motor power train brought the hybrid technology motors into existence At that time the energy saving features were not the main focal point of this dual power model but, nonetheless, the history of hybrid car technology had been born This application dealt with supplementing a gasoline power engine to the point that it would have an increase in speed to go from zero to twenty-five miles an hour in ten seconds Unfortunately, by the time the patent was approved three years later, car speeds had already reached this acceleration speed
There were quite a few people interested in hybrid technology, and some were long before the application for this particular patent was submitted There were some inventors that realized the effect that hybrid technology could give electric running automobiles an added speed boost if they were combined with the horsepower that was afforded through the use of gasoline engines The difference in these speeds jumped an amazing 15 miles per hour The history of hybrid car products on the highway was just emerging to the forefront of American minds during this time
There were hybrid trucks being built as early as 1918 Consumers chose speed over gas savings in 1914, when a company developed a hybrid that would offer an astounding 70 miles to each gallon of gas, an amount that is available in some models being offered now in the year 2007 It was the top speed of 30 miles an hour that changed consumers mind to pursue models that were a bit quicker
The health effects that were caused by internal combustion engines were noted by health officials in the late 1960′s In 1966, the United States Congress recognized the need to reduce air pollution and recommended bills that led to interest in the production of electric vehicles The first car manufacturer to jump on the band wagon to perform research and develop these electric cars
Further development interests led to the production of an advanced battery that would allow the electric vehicles the opportunity to be suitable for highway use Experimentation was done to enhance the number of charges these batteries could take to prolong their time on the roadways The concentration on developing hybrid automobiles had reached a worldwide effort by the time the oil embargos were affecting the prices of fuels around the world
With the effects of pollution becoming worse in large cities, countries such as Germany and Japan took the production levels of the hybrid car center stage, with developments by Volkswagen and Toyota featuring prototype hybrid taxis and engines The state of California was the first government to require a certain percentage of sales be automobiles that met the new Zero Emission Vehicle policies This made the advancement of hybrid automobiles more prevalent in our society Toyota was the first company to offer hybrid automobiles for sale to the public in December 1997 It was marketed solely to Japanese people
For hybrid car sales in the United States, Honda was the first to offer a two-seated hybrid car in year 2000 and further expanded the offering of hybrid vehicles to the United States only two months later with a compact car model, the Prius The classic style of the ever popular gas saving model, Civic, was then offered in hybrid car form in 2002 and received great reviews
Other automakers followed suit, with Ford offering the Escape Hybrid in 2004 This was also the first hybrid that had a sports utility vehicle feature The production of the hybrid car will continue, as popularity intensifies, and the American public will relish in the tax saving and economical features that the hybrid automobile brings to the benefit of the American people
In conclusion, hybrid cars will be the next alternative to fuel vehicle The trend is spreading, not only in American, but worldwide Asia countries, such as Japan, Korea and Singapore owners of hybrid cars are enjoying tax relief from switching to hybrid motor It is inevitable that fuel motor cars model will be going down to history and hybrid cars is making a history
